Honey Mustard Chicken Wings

Honey Mustard Chicken Wings

No deep frying or splattering oil required — save the saucy mess for eating when you prepare these party favorites in the microwave. Inspired by a favorite recipe from our founder’s family, these flavorful wings are sweet and sticky with a bit of a kick from the mustard. Best of all, save the leftover honey mustard glaze for drizzling over rice or chilled over salad.

All of Anyday’s recipes are tested (and retested!) in many different microwaves and home kitchens to make sure they work — and work well.

Select your microwave wattage in the dropdown. The cook times in this recipe will automatically change accordingly.

To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, diced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon curry powder
  • chili flakes, to taste
  • ½ lb (225g) party wings

Preparation

  1. Add all the ingredients except the chicken wings to the Anyday dish and stir together (it’s ok if the butter doesn’t mix in fully).
  2. Cook uncovered in the microwave for 3 minutes (stirring halfway through), or until sauce is slightly reduced and dark brown around the edge.
  3. Add the chicken wings and stir to cover in sauce. Cover with the lid (knob lifted).
  4. Cook for 6 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked through. Enjoy while warm!

Serving suggestions & tips

  • The leftover honey mustard sauce is liquid gold! Eat it over steamed rice, use it as a dip for carrots, or add a spoonful to salad. We’ve been known to double the sauce quantity for leftovers. :)
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
