Warm Broccoli Salad

We love a warm salad, and this one is no exception. Broccoli stays crunchy yet tender in the microwave, and a simple dressing and sprinkle of sesame seeds brings it to the next level.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (150g) broccoli, medium florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil 
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger 
  • ½ clove garlic, minced 
  • 1 ½ teaspoons red wine vinegar 
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Mix together broccoli, oil, ginger, garlic, and salt in the Anyday dish. Cover with the lid (knob lifted). Cook in the microwave for 3 minutes, or until broccoli is vibrant green and just tender.
  2. Add red wine vinegar and sesame seeds and toss thoroughly to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.


Serving suggestions & tips

  • Add slivered or toasted almonds for an added crunch.
  • Enjoy warm or chilled. 
  • Try sesame oil instead of olive oil.
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
