Mushroom Gravy
Skip the stovetop stir and microwave this easy mushroom gravy! The sauce thickens in minutes with a bit of cornstarch. Use this gravy for casseroles, green beans, or warm biscuits on a Sunday morning!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped shallot
- 6 cremini or white mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 2 sage leaves
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour, or cornstarch
- 1½ cups (350ml) stock (beef, chicken, or vegetable)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preparation
- Place the butter in the Anyday dish, and microwave until the butter melts completely, about 30 seconds.
- Add the shallots, mushrooms, and sage and cook in the microwave for 4-5 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients and continue cooking for 5-6 minutes, stirring halfway to prevent overflowing.
- Whisk the thickened gravy. If needed, continue cooking until it thickens to your liking in 30-second intervals. NOTE: The gravy will continue to thicken as it cools.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper. Allow the gravy to cool and use as desired.
- Save Time with Anytime Trays: Allow gravy to cool, about 10-15 minutes. Portion sauce evenly into the Anytime Trays, cover with lid and freeze.
